A Part B premium reduction is not a cash payment. It is a plan-specific feature that some Medicare Advantage plans offer in some areas. It may appear as a lower Social Security or Railroad Retirement deduction, or as a smaller Medicare bill, and it can take time to begin.[1][2]
What to know before you compare
Availability, amount, eligibility, plan rules, premiums, deductibles, copayments, networks, and out-of-pocket costs vary by plan, county, and year. You still generally pay your Part B premium, and a $0 plan premium does not remove other health-care costs. Compare the whole plan, not just this feature.[3][1]
