Why Did I Get This Social Security Letter?

If you recently enrolled in your Medicare plan and received a letter from Social Security stating that $206.50 will be deducted from your benefit, don't panic. This video explains exactly what's happening.

Key Points From This Video:

  • The first letter shows the full Part B premium ($206.50/month) will be deducted from your Social Security
  • Medicare hasn't applied your plan's refund yet - that adjustment takes time
  • About 2-4 weeks later, you'll get a second letter showing the reduced amount
  • Your refund IS coming - typically one billing cycle, sometimes up to four months
  • This is exactly what we told you would happen when you enrolled

The Two-Letter Process

📧 First Letter

States that $206.50 will be deducted from your Social Security benefit for Medicare Part B.

📧 Second Letter (2-4 weeks later)

Shows the reduced amount being deducted - your plan's refund has been applied!
